HIGH SCORING AFFAIR IN CHICAGO

The Golden Knights arrived in Chicago to take on the Blackhawks. The Blackhawks made a trade in the off season with the Islanders trading Corey Crawford to the Islanders for Jaroslav Halak.

The Golden Knights opened the scoring in the first period when Jonathan Marchessault scored at 4:33 of the period from Pacioretty and Karlsson to make it 1-0 Vegas. William Karlsson then scored at 7:56 from Pacioretty to make it 2-0 Vegas. At 13:21 Brendon Saad scored for the Blackhawks from Sbisa and Kane to cut that lead in half. Just a minute later Karlsson scored his second of the game from Tuch and Miller and the Golden Knights had a 3-1 lead. Then Cody Eakin scored from Marchessault at 16:31 to make it 4-1 Vegas. Just 16 seconds later Dominic Kahun scored for Chicago from Schmaltz and Debrincat to make it 4-2 Vegas. Max Pacioretty then scored at 18:30 to make it 5-2 Vegas. Then with just 36 seconds remaining in the period the Blackhawks got a goal from Anisimov set up by Keith and Kahun and when the period came to an end we had a 5-3 Vegas score after just one period.

In the second period Victor Ejdsell scored at 2:01 from Sikura and Nieto to make it 5-4 Vegas. Then at 13:32 Jonathan Toews scored from Ejdsell and Sbisa and we had a 5-5 tie heading into the third period with the United Center as loud as a playoff game.

At 5:04 of the third period Shea Theodore scored from Tuch and Stastny to give the Knights a 6-5 lead. Then at 10:38 of the period Paul Stastny scored from Eakin and Miller to make it 7-5 Vegas. We has no further scoring and the Golden Knights won the game 7-5 in Chicago as both goalie Fleury and Halak were shell shocked in this game with the amount of shots each goalie faced.
