The Golden Knights finish the season with a 49-28-5 record for 103 points and end up second in the Pacific Division three points back of the division winning Calgary Flames. The Phoenix Coyotes finish with the exact same record as the Golden Knights with a 49-28-5 record but place in third place because of the tie breaker where the Golden Knights won 3 of the 4 games against the Coyotes. After a 6-3 loss to the Jets in game 3 the Golden Knights were looking to tie up the series in Winnipeg in game 4 of the first round of the playoffs.
